The Software Technology Research Laboratory, at
De Montfort University, was set up to study, analyse and advance
formal approaches to the specification, design and the
evolution of computing systems with emphasis being placed on those which
are used in critical applications.
Computer Science at De Montfort University achieved excellent results in
the RAE'08: 45% of our research is deemed to be world leading or
internationally excellent. We have submitted more people with a wider
range of research than we did for RAE'01: from 8.5 FTE (RAE'01) to 22.3
FTE (RAE'08). According to Research Power (quality*quantity) De Montfort
University was ranked 38 out of 81. According to Grade Point Average
(GPA) Computer Science at DMU is densely ranked 17.
The STRL is moving from Gateway House to new dedicated Research & Development
premises at Bede Island.
