Final Year Computing Projects 2014-2015

Introduction

You may choose your project and arrange supervision now, but please note:

* Project supervision does not start until the beginning of the Autumn Term, your first submission will be at Christmas.

* The first main task will be to agree a Project Contract with your supervisor - this cannot be done until the start of the Autumn Term

* You can do some preparatory work so that you hit the ground running in September:

1. Read a suitable text - see the suggestions at the end of the Options Day slides

2. Read the Project Handbook (note that this will be revised over the summer) A hard copy will be distributed in induction week at the end of September. It is the main source of useful information about the final year project.

3. Revise/extend your knowledge of technologies/tools/techniques you expect to use in your project

4. Your supervisor might have other, specific, suggestions

* Staff do not get their final timetables until September so there will be changes to the list of supervisors. Supervisors may both be added and removed, and the number of supervisions they have may be updated.

* Click here to see a spreadsheet of project proposals. This will be updated in the period up to September.

* Some courses have specific guidance/regulations on how projects are selected/managed. See below for additional details.
