Abstract. The principal aim of this research is to support existing CAD/CAM systems by providing an automatic solution for detecting design inconsistencies in a distributed design environment especially for aerospace industry. The proposed investigation is also aimed at supporting the designer in finding the modification that would eliminate the mismatch while the overall design integrity is still preserved.
