Brief Description

Project suggested by Lindsay Woodward of the Leicester & Leicestershire Animal Aid Association.

The idea is to develop a smartphone app that runs a virtual pet that the user can interact with to care for and play with. (An idea similar to the tamagotchi and to Nintendogs.) As well as bringing pleasure to children, old people, the lonely and the animal lovers, the game could raise awareness of what is involved in caring for one or more kinds of animals, and awareness of the needs of cats and dogs who are rescued and what animal aid organizations do for them.

Extension

The app could raise money for the Leicestershire Animal Aid Association by enabling the players to pay small amounts of real money to buy blankets, toys, and so on for their pets or enter them in a dog show.
