ERS-2 is largely identical to ERS-1, launched in April 21st 1995. The two satellites flew in tandem (share the same orbit tracks), ERS-2 was 24 hours behind ERS-1.
ERS-2 covers 82°N to 82°S and has a 35 day repeat cycle.
The successor to ERS-2 is Envisat.
