Technolife Grid (fused Technology-in-life)
In
the future we will live in technolife grids that can be configured to fuse many
technologies, artefacts, devices and systems in order to provide different
services to support our everyday life activities. The overall aim is to
enhance every aspect of our lives and environments
for a happier, healthier and more productive
life.
The
technolife grid is a facility which is unique in the world. It has many state
of the art devices and systems such as the first volumetric display in Europe,
stereo virtual studio, haptic glove, comprehensive human tracking including
facial expressions, and many more.
What makes the technolife grid
unique is its architecture of technology provisions-vs.-life-services and
which is based on fused media technology. It can be configured to provide
several services simultaneously. The current technology provisions include:
-
multi-modal capture & tracking,
- context
awareness,
-
multi-modal
visualisation,
-
multi-modal
interactivity.
To arrange a visit and to discuss
how the technolife grid can be configured to suit your requirements, please contact
Professor Dimitrios Rigas (drigas@dmu.ac.uk).
